Noelia Rosa has approached the stage through several crafts: acting, directing, set design and stage machinery. She studied Fine Arts at the University of Granada, alongside further training in dramaturgy, directing actors and performance. Her teachers include José Carlos Plaza, Miguel Narros, Augusto Fernández, Fernando Piernas and Andrés Lima. Visual practice, work with actors and a practical understanding of the stage run throughout her career.[4][3]
Her work spans spoken theatre, dance and circus. She has directed David Mamet’s El búfalo americano, Pablo Remón’s Barbados, etcétera, and Juan Alberto Salvatierra’s Menosprecio de aldea with her company El Búfalo Feo. In conTRAcuerpo she directs Daniel Ramos’s first solo production, a work of flamenco and Spanish dance first presented in 2022 and included in Madrid en Danza in 2023.[8][5]
Another part of her practice takes place alongside other makers, refining a scene or a performer’s relationship with an audience. Her credits include creative advice for La Rous’s Hilos, acting advice for Lanördika’s Rojo estándar, and artistic collaboration on Irene de Paz’s La Madeja. In these projects she supports the performers and the development of the stage work.[6][7][10]
As an actor she has worked in theatre and television, appearing in Yo soy Bea, Doctor Mateo, El Comisario and Arrayán. Alongside this she has developed Poesía para empezar, associated with the Fundación Federico García Lorca, and educational concerts with the Orquesta Ciudad de Granada. Estáis hechos unos elementos, co-written with Antonio Marchal, received a Ciencia en Acción/Cosmocaixa award for communicating science through theatre.[3][8]
Teaching is a sustained part of her career. She coordinates and teaches directing and dramaturgy at the Centro de Formación Escénica de Andalucía in Granada and teaches at Remiendo. She has led workshops in Spain and Central America and undertaken specialist study in creativity through the UOC. Her educational work supports both actors’ training and the development of original stage projects.[2][11]
