A German-Canadian composer, sound designer and music producer, he trained as an instrumentalist before turning to music for images and spaces. He studied classical clarinet and Art of Sound at the Royal Conservatoire in The Hague, then sound design and composition in contexts at the Utrecht School of the Arts. This grounding in both music and audio production runs through his work.[1]
Cinema forms a substantial part of his career. He shares the music credit with Bryan Buss on Thomas Robert Lee’s The Curse of Audrey Earnshaw, presented at CIFF in 2020. For Gianna Isabella Magliocco’s documentary about Giampaolo Manca, known as Il Doge, he composed a score accompanying the story of a life and the difficulty of redemption. The director singled out his contribution in an interview with Rolling Stone Italia.[4][7]
The relationship between music, testimony and image continues in Our Planet, the People, My Blood, Daniel Everitt-Lock’s 2026 documentary about those affected by nuclear weapons testing. His IMEXsound work also encompasses immersive audio and the recording and mixing of orchestral versions of the Subway Surfers music for the game’s tenth anniversary.[6][5]
He has combined composition with teaching and the development of audio arts curricula. He taught at the University of Lethbridge from 2010 to 2017 and subsequently at Buffalo State. The Victoria Conservatory of Music documents his teaching in music technology, theory and composition. He has also shared his research through Audio Engineering Society events, workshops and masterclasses, extending his studio practice into teaching and discussion.[3][1]
