Djalal Dufetelle works with 3D modelling, digital environments and real-time imagery. In Invernaderos, presented at Artillería ON during OFFF Sevilla 2024, these media form part of an installation that connects physical artworks with their audiovisual extensions. The festival programme credits him alongside Pedro Giuliano, under the artistic direction of Felipe Giuliano.[1][2]
In the short film El vals sin nombre, Djalal Dufetelle played a key role in creating the visual effects. He developed highly detailed 3D models and tackled the demanding work of camera tracking and solving lens distortion. His contribution established the geometric and optical foundation for the team’s subsequent work, enabling precise integration of digital elements with the filmed footage.
The scale changes on stage. For the Teatro del Bicentenario de San Juan’s 2025 production of Pagliacci, he joined the audiovisual development team with Bruno Arantes, Felipe Giuliano and Pedro Giuliano. Eugenio Zanetti’s staging places that work within an opera, where the timing of images shares the stage with singers and live music.[3]
Installation and opera offer two ways of working with images in space. In the first, visitors decide where to pause and how to look; in the second, music organises duration. Dufetelle contributes within teams with distinct crafts and responsibilities, from creating environments to bringing them into an exhibition or performance space.[1][3]
